With Halloween behind us, our family is firmly in the grasp of the holiday season.  Of course, I am referring to the season of the big bottle.  Whatever your family holidays, I hope you are able to get together with the people you love, sit around a big table with food (that took 6 hours to prepare and will take 30 minutes to consume), and enjoy your time together.  One way to slow down the meal and enliven the conversation is to open big bottles.  Entry level here is the magnum – 1.5 liters or the equivalent of 2 regular sized bottles.  The more the better.  Of course, we send a special shout out to the pros among us who regularly open 3 and 5 liter bottles.  Respect.  If you are new to big bottles, a magnum is a good place to start.  Easy enough to open and to pour.  For those larger formats, after the ceremonial uncorking, having a few decanters handy is a good way to disperse the grape goodness around the table.  For these and other pro tips, don’t hesitate to give us a call.  Have (responsible) fun.
