Today I was going to write about shearing sheep. Alas, it was rainy, the sheep were wet, and no sheep were shorn. We have nice weather later this week so we will follow up with news, pictures, and maybe even video. So, that’s something to look forward to. But it also gives me an opportunity to talk about another thing we do around here; wait for the weather to change. Sometimes it is so we can shear the sheep but quite often it is so we can apply our Spring Biodynamic® sprays.  It’s getting close to time to apply the BD 500 or cow horn manure spray to the vineyard floor. Our RTVs don’t do well in wet clay soils and since we have hillside vineyards, that has the potential to be, well, at a minimum embarrassing and possibly dangerous. So, we wait.  In the meantime, I’m off to check the Biodynamic® calendar and my supplies and, just maybe, it will work out. More later…
