With Earth Day upon us I want to write about our ongoing efforts to improve our environmental sustainability. For over a year we’ve been in talks with a company named Revino to learn about their plans to replace essentially single use wine bottles with bottles that can be returned, washed, and reused up to 25 times. According to Revino, this will reduce emissions by as much as 85% over our current glass. As you can imagine, the first hurdle to clear is getting the glass back. That’s easy enough for the glass we use in our tasting room but what about the cases we ship to other states? That’s why Revino has decided to start in Oregon while they build a national network for recycling.  We are partnering with Revino by committing our Imprint Pinot noir and our Pinot blanc to the program starting with this year’s bottling and we look forward to learning with them and expanding as their capacity grows.  What do you think? Happy Earth Day.  More later…
