2010 Vintage
2010 Winderlea® Chardonnay (sold out)
238 cases produced; $36/bottle
Apple, candied lime, high-toned herbal extracts, and diverse floral perfumes waft from the glass of Winderlea’s 2010 Chardonnay, sourced from three vineyards in three A.V.A.s. Slightly less complex but undeniably winsome in the mouth, this preserves a nice balance of leesy richness with refreshment (enhanced by a mere 20% share of new barrels and a roughly 15% share of small stainless steel tanks) through a satisfyingly persistent finish. (WA Note a/o 6/12)

The Dundee Hills AVA and The Worden Hill Collection
2010 Winderlea® Dundee Hills Vineyards Pinot Noir
425 cases produced; $38/bottle
Our neighborhood cuvee is now made up of fruit from 5 vineyards on Worden Hill Road including Winderlea, Ana, Maresh, Jurto and Juliard. The 2010 Dundee Hills has a beautiful bright red garnet color. The nose is pleasantly rustic with notes and flavors of Sumatra coffee beans, golden raspberries, Rainier cherries and filbert. An intriguing combination of fruit, coffee and spice which we find mouthwatering. Structurally, the wine has great acid, roundness in the mouth, soft tannins and a pretty finish. Drink now or cellar 3 to 7 years.

2010 Winderlea® Vineyard Pinot Noir (sold out)
258 cases produced; $54/bottle
Winderlea’s 2010 Pinot Noir Winderlea Vineyard Winderlea’s – from a portion of that site featuring three popular Dijon clones as well as some older Pommard Selection – is gorgeously-scented with iris, gentian, botanical herbs, blueberry, plum, and all of their distilled essences. Billowing inner-mouth perfume sets up a striking dynamic with fruit and herb on a polished palate, and this finishes with penetrating brightness, invigorating cut of berry seeds, and a legume sprout-like combination of sweet, chlorophyll, and bitter elements. Should age well for 8 to 10 years. (WA-Note a/o 6/12)

2010 Winderlea® Legacy Pinot Noir
175 cases produced; $75/bottle
The flavor profile of Winderlea vineyard comes through loud and clear when one compares this wine with its “Winderlea Vineyard”-labeled counterpart from younger vines and Dijon clones, because both have in common a high-toned herbal and floral intensity that – like each wine’s fruit character – appears as though shadowed by their distilled counterparts. Here we have soaring aromatic and glowing inner-mouth intensity; finer tannins; and stony, piquantly fruit pit, and legume sprout notes lending the finish a certain austerity as well as palate-staining persistence. This athletically lean and energetic, already dynamically if somewhat illusively complex Pinot will almost surely reward and deserve at least a dozen year’s attention. (WA Note a/o 6/12)
