Winderlea Celebrates B Corp Month

Mar 3, 2022 | Bill's Musings, Vintage Journal

As I write this, most of us at Winderlea are engaged in finalizing our application to be re-certified as a B Corp.  It seems fitting then that March is B Corp Month, when the B Corp community comes together to celebrate, “People using business as a force for good.”  You all know some highly visible B Corps such as Patagonia, Ben & Jerry’s, Tillamook Creamery, and King Arthur Flour and some that are less well known, like Nossa Familia Coffee and, well, us.  There are over 4300 certified B Corps in the world with 1715 in the US, and 58 in Oregon.  Fifty three B Corps are in the wine industry.  All of us apply a lens to our decision making that includes not just profit, but also people and place.  Each time we go through recertification, we are reminded that we can do better and we are reinvigorated to try.  Our B Corp community feels the same.  So this March I encourage you to buy B Corp and buy local.  More later.
