Growing up in New England, you didn’t dare wear white pants or white shoes until after Memorial Day. I find I had a similar switch that went off right about now that led me to white wines, and a good deal of Rosé until the Fall. However, Bill and I were struck over the last 2 weeks while traveling in France and Spain that over 95% of the wines we were served were white wines. We typically put our wine selections into the hands of a good Sommelier when we are traveling and don’t know the wines of the region, restaurant or the menu. We estimated that we drank over 100 different wines and only recall being poured 4 red wines. Imagine that! We’ll be expanding the white wine section of our cellar to keep us well stocked year round. We’ll keep you posted.
