Things to do while waiting for the sun to come out. I’ve written a couple of times about how little sun we’ve gotten this year. In terms of accumulated heat units, we are tracking behind the coolest vintage this century. And it’s been grey and rainy – 50.9″ of rain since October 1st against a more typical 35”. Lack of sunshine induced vitamin D deficiency is common and Oregonians famously escape to warmer and sunnier climes in Winter. Donna and I tried that but managed to bring the rain with us for the first part of the trip. Nonetheless, it was good to get away. It’s also a good time to catch up on administrative work and some of those projects you’ve been putting off. It’s not glamorous (yet still part of “Living the Dream.”) but it does result in a feeling of accomplishment. Our favorite new activity this year has been to go to Worden Hill Vineyard to see how many lambs have been born. This isn’t necessarily a rainy day only activity though it has been this year. That leads us to our new favorite office activity, naming the lambs. Feel free to play along at home and then let us know your favorites. More later…
