The Gift of Spring

Sometimes, when Bacchus smiles on Oregon, we get a week of sunshine just as Winter turns to Spring.  In our vineyard, our honeybees get more active, the chickens lay more eggs, and all manner of things poke their heads from the soil.  The vineyard is a sea of yellow mustard and if you look closely you’ll see dozens of other plants among them.  The smell of Spring Onion fills the air.  On a more practical level, the ground dries just enough to allow us to apply our first Biodynamic® Barrel Compost spray.  BC improves soil tilth, provides nutrients to the soil and vines, and helps build humus.  It’s rare that we are able to apply this spray so early in the season.  A real gift from Bacchus. -Bill Sweat, Proprietor
