2012 Winderlea Meredith Mitchell Pinot noir (McMinnville)
($48) Bright ruby-red. Pungent dark berry, cherry skin and anise scents are lifted by peppery spices and a zesty mineral quality. Intense blackberry and bitter cherry flavors slowly gain sweetness in the glass and pick up a sexy floral pastille nuance. This very youthful wine unwinds nicely with air and finishes with a jolt of peppery spices, gentle sweetness and slow-building tannins.
2012 Winderlea Shea Vineyard Pinot Noir (Yamhill-Carlton District)
($60) Vivid ruby-red. Sexy, high-pitched aromas of black raspberry, potpourri and Asian spices show very good clarity and a touch of musky underbrush. Silky and focused on entry, then heftier in the middle, offering sweet red and dark berry flavors and a suggestion of candied rose. The spicy quality comes back strong on the gently tannic finish, which lingers with excellent tenacity and appealing sweetness.
2012 Winderlea Crawford Beck Pinot noir (Eola-Amity Hills)
($48) Bright ruby-red. Expansive, spice-accented dark berry, cherry compote and floral pastille aromas and flavors show very good energy and a hint of smokiness. Smooth, seamless and deep, but nicely leavened by gentle acidity and a late jolt of white pepper that adds cut. Generous but energetic pinot with strong finishing punch and length and gentle tannins.
2012 Winderlea Dundee Hills Vineyards Pinot noir
($38) Deep red. Ripe cherry, dark berries and cola on the deeply scented nose. Pliant and spicy, offering good tension and bit to the peppery blackberry and bitter cherry flavors. More lithe and nervy than the majority of 2012s, with a zesty kick of acidity adding lift to the taut, mineral-tinged finish.
2012 Winderlea Legacy Pinot Noir
($75) Brilliant ruby-red. Heady, complex bouquet combines red berry preserves, incense, rose oil and Asian spices, with a zesty mineral quality adding vivacity. Stains the palate with intense raspberry and cherry liqueur flavors that deepen and gain sweetness with air. Packs a serious punch but shows surprising vivacity too. Sexy spicecake and floral pastille qualities build on the long, penetrating finish, which is framed by smooth, velvety tannins.
2012 Winderlea Vineyard Pinot noir (Dundee Hills)
($60) Brilliant ruby. Intense blackberry, floral pastille and spicecake aromas are complemented by deeper-pitched notes of licorice and mocha. Coats the palate with round dark berry and cola flavors that are energized by a peppery element and a subtle mineral accent. The floral and dark fruit notes build on the broad finish, which is firmed by sneaky tannins.
2011 Winderlea Dundee Hills Vineyards Pinot noir (Dundee Hills)
Bright red. Perfumed nose features fresh raspberry and candied cherry scents accented by fresh flowers and musky herbs. Refreshingly tangy red berry flavors show good depth, as well as a hint of warmth on the back half. Supple and open-knit, finishing with subtle oak spices and mounting sweetness. 89 2011 Winderlea Vineyard & Winery Pinot Noir Juliard Vineyard Dundee Hills Vivid red. Musky cherry and dark berry scents are complemented by sassafras, black tea and dried rose. Shows good energy to its tangy red fruit flavors, which take a jammy turn with air. Nicely fruity but on the simple side, finishing with good cling and length.
2011 Winderlea Maresh Vineyard Pinot noir (Dundee Hills)
Made from fruit harvested at 21.2 degrees Brix; 12.7% finished alcohol
Bright red. Intense red berry and Asian spice scents are complemented by deeper notes of anise and cola. Smoky, penetrating raspberry and bitter cherry flavors are braced by tangy acidity and pick up a floral pastille quality with air. Finishes lively and long, with silky tannins adding grip.
2011 Winderlea Legacy Pinot Noir (Dundee Hills)
Offers an array of red fruit and floral scents, complicated by deeper licorice and earth qualities and a hint of smoky Indian spices. Sappy, energetic and precise, offering excellent clarity to its black raspberry and floral pastille flavors. Closes silky and very long, with lingering spiciness and a hint of dusty minerals. This elegant but powerful pinot checks in at 12.8% alcohol.
2011 Winderlea Murto Vineyard Pinot noir (Dundee Hills)
Made from fruit picked at 22 degrees Brix
Brilliant red. Dark berry and cola aromas are lifted by notes of white pepper and five-spice powder. Appealingly sweet and precise, offering vibrant black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors and a touch of blood orange. Closes spicy and long, with slow-building tannins and sneaky smoke and floral notes.
2011 Winderlea Meredith Mitchell Vineyard Pinot Noir Meredith (McMinnville)
Bright ruby-red. Pungent redcurrant and cherry on the nose, with a floral quality adding complexity. Firm, vibrant cherry and rose pastille flavors show good depth, with juicy acidity adding cut. Aeration brings out deeper blackberry and licorice nuances, which linger on the persistent, gently tannic finish.
2011 Winderlea Shea Vineyard Pinot noir (Yamhill-Carlton District)
Brilliant ruby-red. Highly fragrant scents of fresh red berries, cherry pit, potpourri and vanilla. Sappy and penetrating, showing very good depth to its tangy black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors. This is leading with its fruit right now. Closes spicy and long, with a sexy floral touch and smooth, slow-building tannins.

2011 Winderlea Estate Reserve Pinot noir (Dundee Hills)
Light, bright red. Vibrant redcurrant and strawberry aromas show very good clarity and pick up a spicy nuance with air. Brisk, mineral-accented red fruit flavors are braced by zesty minerality. Finishes tangy and quite long, with resonating allspice and floral qualities. This elegant pinot shows well now but it possesses the depth and balance to age over the medium term.
2010 Winderlea Estate Reserve Pinot noir (Dundee Hills)
Bright ruby-red. Intense red fruit and floral aromas are complemented by notes of cola and anise. Juicy and taut on entry, then fleshier in the mid-palate, offering bitter cherry and black raspberry flavors and a hint of vanilla. Finishes sweet and long, with good energy and lingering spiciness. This vineyard, which was planted in 1974, was formerly known as Goldchmidt and has been the source of many topnotch wines for other producers over the years.
