2016 Winderlea Vintage
Sparkling Brut Magnum


Our inaugural sparkling wine is everything we could have hoped for. Upon arrival at the winery, the fruit is pressed slowly and gently before the juice is moved to neutral French oak where it ferments and ages for seven months. The finished wine is bottled along with a small amount of sugar and yeast- essential ingredients for the secondary bottle fermentation which creates the beautiful, fine bubbles in this wine. After two years in tirage, we are pleased to share it with you.

The nose is abundant and generous- aromas of fresh brioche and pear blossom seem to harmonize with bright orange and lemon curd while notes of honey, toasted hazelnuts, clove, and wood spice drift in the background. The palate teems with flavors of white raspberry, white currant, quince and a touch of bramble bound up with layers of almond paste and perfectly balanced acidity. A sure sign of good things to come.
