Maresh Vineyard

One of the vineyards that helped to establish the renowned reputation of the Red Hills Bench was none other than the Maresh Vineyard, our next door neighbor and the 5th oldest vineyard in all of Oregon.

Jim and his beloved wife Loie bought their property in 1959 and farmed it as a peach, prune and cherry orchard until 1970. When Oregon winemaking pioneer and neighbor Dick Erath knocked on their door, it was only a matter of time before they were convinced to plant wine grapes. The rest is history – of which we are happy to play a part. From 2010-2018 Winderlea has been fortunate to have sourced fruit and made single vineyard designate Pinot noirs off of this historic property.
