Perhaps one silver lining to our current situation is that, along with the nice weather, it has given us the opportunity to get a good jump on our Biodyanamic® sprays. Usually at this time of year, I’m hoping to get my first spray, Barrel Compost, on the ground. The typical wet Oregon Spring makes it hard to safely drive an RTV on the vineyard and so we are left waiting for the sun to dry out our slippery clay soils. This year, with the nice weather and because we have staff available to help with the sprays (thank you Allison), we’ve done a BC, two 500 (cow horn manure), and a 501 (silica) spray and expect to get another silica spray applied before the end of the week. I would gladly trade our spray progress for something approaching normalcy, but I will take any goodness that comes my way. I hope you and your loved ones are healthy and well.-Bill Sweat, Proprietor
