Donna and I have spent the Christmas holiday in North Carolina with my parents. They are in their late eighties now and dealing with many of the challenges that accompany longevity. It’s easy to get caught up in the negative aspects of their aging, but as the new year approaches, I am buoyed by the promise of a better year ahead for them both and grateful that they are both still with us. I hope the vineyard is a good metaphor, our old vines have their challenges, but they also have a great history and, we hope, good years ahead. In just a few days the calendar will move from 2018 to 2019 and it will feel like a fresh start. In the spirit of new beginnings, I hope 2019 brings you great happiness, joy, and the resolution of whatever challenges you may be facing. Happy New Year from all of us at Winderlea.- Bill Sweat, Proprietor
