Meredith Mitchell Vineyard

Winderlea Slideshow 1Like the best investment portfolios, we believe it is important to diversify and to source fruit from more than one AVA. As we ventured outside of our home in the Dundee Hills and our immediate neighbor Yamhill-Carlton, there were a couple of vineyards that always held particular appeal to us. The first was the very fine Meredith Mitchell Vineyard in McMinnville. Owned by Susan Meredith and her husband Frank Mitchell, this vineyard southwest of the city of McMinnville was planted in 1988 and has expanded to 25 acres over the years. Rated one of the top 5 vineyards in Oregon for good reason. The combination of own-rooted, mature vines and shallow, rocky, broken basalt, sedimentary soil consistently produces intense fruit with complex layers of aroma, flavor and structure.  These characteristics are showcased by several leading Willamette Valley winemakers in the creation of Meredith Mitchell single vineyard designated, award-winning, ultra-premium wines. The vineyard is managed by Susan and Frank underlining their philosophy that “the best fertilizer is the owner’s footsteps”. We are very excited to see what we can do with their fruit. More to come.
