Around here we like the simple things: good food, great wine and warm weather. That’s how we’d describe a nice day. With these ingredients as our inspiration, we’ve been hard at work designing a summer of relaxing and delicious events just for you. Here’s what we’ve come up with for many ‘nice days’ this summer.
Bunches of Lunches
Returning for the 5th year is a fan favorite: our “Summertime Lunch Series.” Beginning on July 6th, these 3 course meals will pair the best of our wines with some of the most delicious cuisine around. No, we aren’t cooking. We are bringing in a ‘who’s who’ of the local gourmet chef scene to do the honors. We will, however, be providing the wine you know and love, and the service and scenery you’ve come to expect. Lunches are $55/person, and will be held throughout the summer.
To-date, featured chefs include:
- Abby McManigle of Tina’s Restaurant (Abby will be joining us 7/6, 8/3 and 9/7)
- Christopher Czarnecki of The Joel Palmer House (Christopher will be joining us 7/20, 8/17, 9/21 and 9/28)
- Paul Losch of D.O.C. (Paul will be joining us 7/13 and 9/21)
- Wendy Bennett of The Wine Country Cooking Studio (Wendy will be joining us 8/10 and 8/24)
Next, we are sponsoring the fun before Fueled by Fine Wine Half-Marathon run with a Dinner on Saturday, July 14th at 6:00 pm. As a reward for all the training that goes into these events, we are encouraging everyone to come out and attend our pre-race dinner. Surrounded by friends and fellow racers, attendees will enjoy a delightful selection of food, paired with the right measure of our Pinot noir and Chardonnay. Two-time Olympic Trials Qualifier, Sage Canaday will also be on hand to share his insights on training and traction for the following day’s race. This dinner is $60 per person and comes with a dose of pep talk. (If you choose to forgo wine with dinner, we will provide you with a complimentary tasting on your next visit).
The Grapes We Grow
If you’ve ever wanted to learn about the science behind our grapes, we have something you’re going to like. For one day only, on Tuesday, July 24th, Winderlea and Philippe Armenier – our Biodynamic® Consultant with nearly 40 years of experience – are set to give you a look at our Biodynamic® farming process. The classroom will be outdoors at the vineyard, so plan to spend the morning out amongst the grapes. You’ll learn the basics of our farming practices, see our prep garden, help prepare an application or two, and have a chance to pepper us with questions about Biodynamic methods and the results you can reap. After the lesson, we will wrap everything up with a fabulous lunch paired with Winderlea wines for $60 per person inclusive.
Seating is limited for each and reservations are required by calling 503-554-5900 or emailing Donna at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please contact us for additional details and reservations. We hope you’ll join us for one – or all – of our upcoming events!
